Youth Apprenticeship is a unique opportunity for juniors and/or seniors to start preparing for a career while in high school. Students are simultaneously enrolled in academic classes to meet high school graduation requirements, in a youth apprenticeship related instruction class, and are employed by a participating employer under the supervision of a skilled mentor.

How do students get involved in this program? Interested students must apply through their school counselor and/or career & technical education (CTE) coordinator. Selection is based on career interest, skills, employability, attitude, attendance, credits, grades and recommendations. This program is competitive and subject to business and industry availability.
Medical Occupations Externship Course 356 Credit .5 Grade-12
Central Cities Health Institute Designation During the Externship rotations, the students will experience the daily activities of a wide variety of health care professionals. Some careers they may experience include: veterinary, dental, physical therapy, assisted living/memory care, pharmacy, imaging, chiropractor, occupational therapy, medical assistant, optometry, dietician, social work, laboratory, and nursing.
Students who are interested in participating in the Medical Occupations Externship during their senior year MUST successfully complete FOUR of the health science courses before picking up an application for consideration in this class. Students will also receive the Central Cities Health Institute (CCHI) designation by their name in the graduation program when they complete the Externship course.

Students will be involved in three 4-week externship experiences in local health care settings. The students will have on-the-job training and participate in health care skill development evaluated by their site manager and the classroom teacher. Classroom activities will include online portfolio development and health care skill preparation. This will allow students to gain workplace experience in several of the careers that they studied throughout their health science education. Students will need to have their own transportation to worksites.
This class is for 12th graders who have taken any four of the classes listed below after they complete Health Education. Students must apply for this class through instructor. Selection is based on attendance, skills, employability, attitude, personality, and successful completion of the application process. There are a limited number of seats available in this course.
Students MUST complete the Nursing Assistant course to be eligible for placement at Aspirus Hospital and Clinics.
School- Based Enterprise, The Wolf Den
The Wolf Den, the school-based enterprise (SBE) of Lincoln High School, has been in business for its fifth consecutive year. The Wolf Den is located in the front hallway near the main entrance doors where a majority of students, staff members, and others enter the building. The store carries the following product lines: food, drinks, apparel, and a variety of accessories. All foods and beverages sold to meet the requirements of the USDA’s nutrition guidelines. The Wolf Den sells a variety of apparel including vests, pocket tees, hoodies, crewnecks, etc. in both men’s and women’s sizes. In addition to Lincoln High School apparel, The Wolf Den sells a plethora of different accessories like face masks, fanny packs, Pura Vida bracelets, hats, drawstring bags, etc.
Customers who enter the store will notice that there are students operating it. Students who take our senior advanced marketing course, Marketing Principles, are responsible for the operations of The Wolf Den. The stockroom connects the store with the classroom where students take the Marketing Principles course. This gives students very easy access to The Wolf Den. Additionally, The Wolf Den experienced a summer remodel that includes a counter along the back wall to house the slushy machine.
The Wolf Den's hours of operations include RPT, 4th hour, 5th hour, and after school until 3:15 PM. Customers can also shop online using our website.
