Families with school-age children who are new to the community or current families with school-aged children within the school district are encouraged to register their students as soon as possible. Please select the option below that best describes your enrollment situation to continue with the process:
Parents with questions about school boundaries may call the Thomas A. Lenk Educational Services Center, 715-424-6700, for assistance. If a student has special education needs, additional information is available by contacting Pupil Services at 715-424-6724.
Proof of Residency, a certified birth certificate, baptismal certificate, passport, or immigration certificate, as well as medical record will be required at the time of registration as required by law. A recent report card from the last school attended is helpful. At the elementary level, a child must be four years old on or before September 1 for entrance into the 4K program, five years old on or before September 1 for entrance into kindergarten, or six years old on or before September 1 for entrance into first grade.
Since good physical health is vital for a successful school career, it is strongly recommended that children have a physical examination prior to entering kindergarten, third, sixth, and ninth grades. Wisconsin Statute requires that all students in grades K-12 be immunized against Diphtheria, Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Pertussis, Polio, Rubella, Tetanus, and Varicella (chicken pox).
At registration time, parents will be given a form which will request information on the dates (day, month, and year) when the immunizations were administered.
Early admission procedures at the elementary level begin with a phone call to the Pupil Services Department at 715-424-6724 to explain your request, and additional paperwork will then need to be completed. The deadline to request early admission is on May 1st prior to the beginning of the school year.
As outlined in Board Policy 426, homeless children and youth will be immediately enrolled and permitted to attend classes and school activities with their non-homeless peers. Enrollment will not be denied due to the lack of any document normally required for enrollment. Questions about the WRPS Families in Transition Program may be directed to the coordinator at 715-315-9271 or by email at homelesscontact@wrps.net.
