River Cities School-Wide Title 1 Program: A Commitment to Making RCHS Great for Years to Come
River Cities operates a school wide Title 1 program. Highly qualified school personnel, parents, and students work together to allow our students to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. River Cities High School offers a variety of differentiated supports for students in the areas of Language Arts and Math. These include reading and math interventions and other strategies as needed. Our team approach to teaching and learning involves many staff working together. This includes classroom teachers, special education teachers, Title One Reading Intervention teachers, GED teachers, and counselors. Support is also provided by our paraprofessionals. This means all teachers are Title One teachers and all students are Title One students. All students thereby receive the best instruction possible in a supportive learning environment.
Parent involvement is encouraged and all stakeholders sign a compact to commit them to being a part of each child’s success at RCHS. Each school year parents will be given opportunities to review student progress via progress reports, parent teacher conferences, portfolio night, and various teacher communications home. Parents will have the opportunity to reflect on our services each year and provide feedback to be a part of the learning process at RCHS.
