Howe Elementary School is eager and excited to continue its work as a school wide Title 1 program. Highly qualified school personnel, parents, and students work together to allow our students to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Howe Elementary School strives to create an elementary learning environment based on high expectations, developmental responsibility, engaging academics and positive community. Howe also offers a systematic approach to differentiated supports for students in the areas of Language Arts and Math. Our team approach to teaching and learning involves many staff working together. We have teams of teachers who review academic and behavioral data on a regular basis to ensure progress and success. This means all teachers are Title One teachers and all students are Title One students. All students thereby receive the best instruction possible in a supportive learning environment.
Parent involvement is encouraged and all stakeholders sign a compact to commit them to being a part of each child’s success at Howe Elementary. Howe hosts monthly family activity nights in a partnership with the Parent Teacher Community. The family nights have different monthly themes and each event corresponds to our school wide goals of supporting home literacy. Each school year parents will be given opportunities to review student progress via progress reports, parent teacher conferences, portfolio night, and various teacher communications home. Parents will have the opportunity to reflect on our services each year and provide feedback to be a part of the learning process at Howe Elementary.
