Teacher Mentoring
< Back
The New to the District Teacher Mentor Program exists to support each new teacher within the Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools. Each teacher, new to the district, will be assigned a mentor to assist them with issues related to new teacher concerns as well as assist them with learning the policies and procedures related to the Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools. Specific questions related to the teacher mentoring program should be directed to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
The New to the District Teacher Orientation Program occurs prior to each school year. Teachers new to the district will be required to spend up to the hourly equivalent of three (3) work days prior to the beginning of school in the New to the District Teacher Orientation Program, and up to nine (9) evening meetings participating in collaborative exchange with neighboring district teachers. Both the three daytime and nine evening required events are considered part of the “New to the District Teacher’s” condition of employment, and are without additional compensation.
