Instructional Preparation Time

Elementary teachers will usually receive a minimum of approximately 210 minutes of preparation time per week without student contact and within the regularly scheduled student day. Teachers shall spend this preparation time performing professional duties. Teachers who lose preparation time due to special school activities shall not receive compensation for the lost preparation time. All other time within the regular scheduled workday may be assigned by the Administration. The duty free uninterrupted 30 minute lunch period shall not be counted as preparation time.
Secondary teachers will usually have one preparation period within the student day or a weekly average of approximately five (5) periods preparation time. Teachers shall spend this preparation period performing professional duties. The secondary teacher's duty free uninterrupted thirty (30) minute lunch period shall not be counted as preparation time.
Teachers who lose preparation time due to special school activities shall not receive compensation for the lost preparation time.
