BIOGRAPHY
Jeanne Olson is in her 27th year of teaching band at Wisconsin Rapids and Lincoln High School and East Jr. High School. In addition to teaching band, she also serves as the District Music Curriculum Chair, EJH music department chair, and serves on many committees within the district including, Quality Educator Committee and the EJH PRIDE Committee. Mrs. Olson has served as a cooperating teacher for many student teachers through UW-Stevens Point. She also serves as a mentor to new teachers in the Wisconsin Rapids School District.
Mrs. Olson received her bachelor's and master's degrees in music education from UW-Stevens Point. She continues to remain an active learner, most recently attending a Music Assessment Institute. She is very actively involved in the WSMA Middle Level Honors Project as a ML Honors adjudicator, past Band flute section coach, Coordinator, and is currently serving another term as Band flute section coach. Jeanne has been an active adjudicator and guest clinician across the state, and helped develop the WSMA Beyond Ratings Project.
Mrs. Olson is very involved in music in her community. She plays flute and piccolo in the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra and the Wisconsin Rapids City Band. She also teaches Sunday School music and is a member of her church choir.
