Hey there, WRPS Students & Families!I'm the School Social Worker for Lincoln and River Cities High Schools, as well as the District Families in Transition Coordinator. I've worked in the WRPS district since 2020. I earned my Bachelor of Science from UW-Stevens Point in 2015 and a few years later my Master of Social Work from UW-Green Bay in 2020. I started my career with youth-serving non-profits in 2015 as the Academics Director for Boys & Girls Club of Door County and then a social service provider with Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin. My role is to support students by ensuring they have all they need to be successful at school even as they experience external challenges that so many families face, such as financial stress, job loss, food insecurity, significant family changes, transportation barriers, parenting struggles, homelessness, lack of quality healthcare, and systemic racism. My goal in supporting families is to always offer a listening and non-judgemental ear and to serve as an advocate for your child and family as you navigate the sometimes confusing or intimidating educational system. For example, this could look like attending a school meeting alongside you to make sure your questions and concerns are heard. Or it could look like connecting you to community resources that may be helpful for your family if the resources are not available within our district. In any case, I consider it my joy and privilege to partner with students, parents, and caregivers to support social, emotional, and academic success. I can help you with...- Community resources
- Referral to community agencies
- District resources
- Clothing, food, & homelessness concerns
- Individual/small group support and skill development
- Family support
- Social, emotional, & behavioral concerns
