Tips for Making First Grade Fantastic!
Your child should spend some time reading most nights. Whether your child reads a new book, working hard to figure out difficult words or reads a familiar book to help improve fluency and expression, it is essential to your child's reading development. Encourage your child to use reading strategies to figure out tricky words. Sounding out words is one strategy, however reading on and going back to see what looks and sounds right is just as important.
Math homework often comes home on Tuesdays and is expected to come back to school by Friday. It is important for you to familiarize yourself with current math strategies and give support when needed.
Working together, we can make your child's first grade experience a positive success!
