Meet Your Principal: Amber Applebee
I grew up in Wisconsin Rapids and am a proud graduate of the Wisconsin Rapids Public School District. I love this area so much that I decided to stay so that my own children could also have access to the great opportunities our district and community has to offer. I started in the district as a brand new educator in 2006. My first twelve years were spent teaching at Woodside Elementary, which was a great place to kick off and grow my career in education. Then, the next three years, I branched out to many areas in our district, working as an instructional coach, a second grade teacher at Mead, a math interventionist, a virtual 5th grade teacher, and the Elementary GT Coordinator. Phew! It has been quite a journey, and I loved every minute of it.
My passion for ensuring success for both our students and our teachers has led me to the role of a principal. I know our students benefit most when we work together and support one another, which is why I prioritize building strong relationships between students, staff, and families. As a building leader, I am eager to foster this collaboration. Throughout my time in the district these past fifteen years, I've worked with so many amazing people; one group being wonderful staff at Mead. I was incredibly blessed to begin my administrative career leading such a supportive, dedicated group of educators who embrace learning from one another and working together to continually give our best to our students. Together, we work hard to do great things at Mead School!
