About Our Forensics Program

The forensics program provides you with the opportunity to develop and improve your public
speaking skills. This is an opportunity to become a skillful public speaker. In addition, the
individual who can communicate well often has a distinct advantage over the less well-trained
speaker in many areas of society. Participation in forensics allows students to increase
confidence in the ability to express your ideas clearly to people and the experience may be a
part of your future resume and school records. Future employers will be impressed with your
solid speaking ability and the commitment to an extracurricular activity which builds real-life
skills. There are a total of fifteen categories from which to choose. You may choose the type of
speaking that suits you best. There are three speaking contests: sub-district, district, and lastly
the state contest. Speakers competing at the district and state levels will be awarded medals.
Practice revolves around your schedules and is flexible.
