About Central Oaks Academy

Welcome to Central Oaks Academy Charter School!

Central Oaks Academy is a virtual charter school serving 4K-8th grade students in the District and surrounding communities. We are thrilled to partner with families to provide an alternative avenue for their children's education. Most of our students participate in a blended learning format—a hybrid structure that combines synchronous and asynchronous platforms with in-person instruction and support.

A Day in the Life of a Central Oaks Academy Elementary School Student (Monday-Thursday)

Sample schedule for the day (times and activities vary by student)

7:30-8:00 - Student wakes up for the day, eats a healthy breakfast, and prepares for the day.
8:00-8:20 - Logs into classroom for a check-in with class and teacher on daily expectations
8:20-8:45 - With parental support logs into online learning platform to complete Language Arts
8:45-9:00 - Optional travel to school
9:00-10:00 - Writer’s workshop in person at Central Oaks Academy
10:00-10:15 - Returns home
10:15-12:00 - With parental support logs into online learning platform and completes Math and
Social Studies
12:00-12:30 - Lunch
12:30-1:00 - Recess: Movement Break
1:00- 2:00 - With parental support logs into online learning platform to complete Science
2:00-3:00 - Meet via zoom 1-1 with Teacher/Interventionist
3:00-5 - Heads to sport practice, music or art lessons

A Day in the Life of a Central Oaks Academy Middle School Student (Monday-Thursday)

8:00-8:30 - Student wakes up for the day, eats a healthy breakfast, and prepares for the day.
8:30-8:45 - Logs into computer to check emails and daily assignments.
8:45-9:30 - Logs into online learning platform to begin working on Language Arts
9:30-9:45 - Optional travel to Central Oaks Academy
10:00-1:00 - In person Open Lab at Central Oaks Academy with teacher support while logged in to online learning platform to complete assignments in Language Arts, Math, Social Studies and Science.
12:00-12:30 - Lunch and a break while at Central Oaks
12:30-1:00 - Continues to work on assignments in online learning platform
1:00-1:15 - Heads home
1:15-2:00 - Completes Assignments in online learning platform for the day
2:00-2:30 - Tutoring/Intervention with instructor
2:30-3:00 - Takes a break to end the school day and begins to prepare for nightly activities.
