And Then There Was One A mysterious spoof by Michael Druce. Auditions: Sept 15 & 16 Come to Welcome Soiree for details on our fall show

The FALL SHOW - LHS Theatre Dept

AND THEN THERE WAS ONE: A SPOOF  by Michael Druce

"This spoof of the famous stage mystery is all comedy, filled with hilarious sight gags and dialogue.  Ten people are brought together by mysterious invitation to the Reef Mansion on a tiny, isolated island.  Not one of them knows the host, who is nowhere to be found.  Still, he has left an ominous recording that bodes evil for the guests.  Like the chocolate soldiers that inexplicably disappear from the mantel one by one, the guests begin to die one by one.  Luckily, Inspector Miles is among the guests, but even he is stymied as to who the murderer could be.  As the guests begin to reappear in the final scene, we discover the farcical twist!  A great spoof, this delightful script that’s a cinch to costume and stage doesn’t miss any opportunity for lively comedy and humor." ~Pioneer Drama Service

Excited to be part of something great this year? AND THEN THERE WAS ONE: A SPOOF is our fall show that will be entered into the One Act Play Festival. This is a celebrated program where Wisconsin high schools prepare and present a play no longer than 40 minutes. Schools who advance at the district and sectional levels qualify to perform at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Theatre Festival in mid-November. Cast, crew, and tech members - we're looking for you!

WISDAA's interscholastic one-act play contest series starts in about a month. This is a great way for your school's theatre program to share its work with other schools, earn accolades to reward your students for their efforts, and to get valuable feedback from which to grow. Schools perform at one of twelve regional districts (or online) in mid-October; some schools may advance to one of five regional sections (or online) in late-October/early November; and select schools may advance to the State Festival at UW-Stevens Point the weekend before Thanksgiving (Nov. 20-22).

Performance dates are Friday, November 14 at 5:30pm and Saturday, November 15 at 7:00pm.  Tickets are general seating at $7 and online purchases will be available soon or buy at the door. There is also a 25th Anniversary celebration on Saturday, Nov 15 with a dinner. Stay tuned!

Students Interested in Auditioning

Visit us at our table during your lunch on Club Awareness day on Thursday, Sept 11th and come to the Welcome Soiree after school on Sept 11 in the Green Room for even more details about the fall show.

Located in the Green Room (room 165) at starting times until finished. All audition materials (audition form, reading pieces) will be available after school each audition day.

  • Monday, September 15th, 2025 starting at 3:15pm until done
  • Tuesday, September 16th, 2025 starting at 3:15pm until done

Please choose ONE of those days to audition. Our stage managers will be there to assist you both audition days. No need to sign up - just show up! The order of auditions are first come, first serve. If you need to leave early, let our stage manger(s) know.  All auditions are closed auditions and are cold readings. Excerpts of readings will be available before you audition. All material will be available outside of the Green Room after school on both audition days as well as during Club Awareness day and Welcome Soiree. Please only select ONE scene to read but be prepared and ready if we ask you to randomly read for another scene during your audition. Copies of the script are found in "the Square."

A kind reminder - When you audition, you audition for the whole play, not just a role.  Just because you read for a role doesn't mean that you are auditioning for that role. We want to hear your voice and see you act. Choose a reading that you feel comfortable with.
All information is found in the Parent/Student square "LHS Theatre Dept." Please contact Mrs Danke or Mr Krommenakker if you'd like us to add you.

Please plan on attending the production meeting on Thursday, Sept 18 after school in the Ensemble Room (166) after school until 5:15ish at the latest. The rehearsal schedule is located under the Fall Show module in "the Square."

Students Interested in Tech/Crew

Visit us at our table during your lunch on Club Awareness day on Thursday, Sept 11th and come to the Welcome Soiree after school on Sept 11 in the Green Room for even more details about the fall show.

All information is found in The Parent/Student Square "LHS Theatre Dept." Contact Mrs Danke, Mr Krommenakker and/or the LHS stage manager(s) for details.

Please fill out a crew application (paper copies found in the Green Room about 2 weeks before audition dates, lunch days - listen to announcements, or day of audition day) and hand it in to one of our stage managers during one of our audition days (see above). Please plan on attending the production meeting in the Ensemble Room (166) after school on Thursday, Sept 18 if a crew/tech role has been assigned to you.

The week of Nov 10th is our Tech Week.

Since this is a co-curricular competitive activity, we follow and strictly enforce the sports code of conduct.  Any use of substance(s), poor academics or poor behavior will lead to termination of your role from our team.
