Volunteer at Washington

Read about the WRPS volunteer guidelines.

In addition, visitors at Washington shall abide by the following school guidelines:

1. If strictly observing in a classroom, refrain from interacting with students unless requested by the teacher.
2. If interaction with students is requested by the teacher, follow their directions and avoid disrupting the learning in the classroom.
3. Volunteers may be asked to help with non-instructional activities, such as making copies or hanging student work in the hallway.

To ensure the safety of our students and staff, all volunteers must complete a volunteer application and undergo a criminal history records check (background check).  All volunteers must be approved prior to volunteering in any capacity in the school, including but not limited to: helping in the classroom and field trips. The deadline to submit your volunteer application is November 30. Exceptions will be made for volunteers that have just moved into the district and on a case-by-case basis.
