Mead Elementary Title I Information
Mead Elementary School operates a school-wide Title 1 program. Highly qualified school personnel, parents, and students work together to allow our students to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Mead Elementary School offers a variety of differentiated supports for students in the areas of Language Arts and Math. These supports include strong Tier One classroom instruction as well as reading and math interventions when needed. Our team approach to teaching and learning involves many staff working together. This includes classroom teachers, special education teachers, Reading Intervention teachers, Math Intervention teachers, social workers, and counselors. This means all teachers are Title One teachers and all students are Title One students. All students thereby receive the best instruction possible in a supportive learning environment. This best instruction could include co-teaching in regular classrooms or providing small group support in an alternate environment.
Teachers are provided a weekly collaboration time to focus on students’ growth, needs, strengths, and next step instruction. Learning from each other is a priority through the co-teaching, collaboration, and professional development embedded throughout each day.
Parent involvement is encouraged and all stakeholders sign a compact to commit to being a part of each child’s success at Mead Elementary School. Each school year parents are given opportunities to review student progress via progress reports, parent-teacher conferences, portfolio night, family activity nights, and various teacher communications home. Parents have the opportunity to reflect on our services each year and provide feedback. Parents give input into the school programs through involvement in the PTC, and collaborative conversations with staff.
